AUG 30, 2005 (newstodate): Newly founded Russian airline alliance AIRUnion has decided to iomplement Lufthansa Systems' O&D based ProfitLine/Yield revenue management solution.
Using the LH Systems solution, airlines gain precise knowledge regarding the development of traffic flows on their entire route network, allowing an optimised management of flight and fare offerings.
For the implementation at AIRUnion, Lufthansa Systems will cooperate closely with the Moscow firm TAIS Transport Automation Information Systems, a subsidiary of Ultitek, Ltd.
AIRUnion comprises Omskavia, KrasAir, Sibaviatrans, Samara Airlines, Domodedovo Airlines, and, from earlier this month, Sakhalinskiye AviaTrassy.
According to plans, AIRUnion will operate as a separate legal entity from the end of 2005, to become Russia's second largest airline immediately competing with Aeroflot.
