JUL 06, 2005 (newstodate): Effective from April, 2006, Finnair plans to open a new route from Helsinki to Edinburgh.
-The new route, initially to be operated twice weekly with Airbus A319 aircraft, is designed to serve as a feeder line from Scotland to our Far Eastern routes, especially to Guangzhou and Hong Kong, and with our short transit time at Helsinki Airport Scottish travellers will save one hour in total travel time compared to transiting at London, says Petteri Kostermaa, Finnair VP Network Strategies and Management.
According to Mr Kostermaa, the new route's schedule is coordinated with Finnair's routes between Helsinki and the Far East, and to the routes to Moscow and the Baltic destinations.
