The Russian construction company Stroimonolit recently won a tender to build a new airport terminal including a new departure pier with six aircraft parking stands and passenger bridges.
The Russian government has also decided upon a project to renovate the airport's runways.
Also comprised by the current planning, named Transport Strategy of the Russian Federation till 2020 is the construction of a new air cargo complex at Tolmachyovo Airport designed to handle up to 300 tonnes of air cargo per day.
