China Airlines is new in this tier, advancing two steps from 2003 to replace Air France, measured in freight tonne kilometres.
In 2004, Korean Air took the lead, relegating Lufthansa to the no 2 position, while Singapore Airlines and Cathay Pacific retained their positions unchanged from 2003.
In the next tier, FedEx retained its no 6 position, while EVA Air took the no 7 position earlier held by China Airlines.
