JUL 07, 2005 (newstodate): On July 6, Emirates SkyCargo took delivery of the first of three Airbus A310-300Fs from EADS EFW.
The aircraft with a cargo capacity of 39 tonnes is the first Airbus freighter in the carrier's fleet and the first freighter ever owned by Emirates, and makes Emirates SkyCargo the launch customer for Airbus freighters with side-by-side loading capability of 96"x125" pallets.
The remaining two A310-300Fs on order will enter Emirates' fleet by the end of the year.
Including six wet-leased Boeing 747s, three A310Fs, and two A380Fs expected to enter the fleet in 2008, Emirates SkyCargo's total freighter fleet will grow to eleven aircraft.
