JUL 08, 2005 (newstodate): The appointment of a new cargo GSA to provide sales in Finland for British Airways World Cargo seems to be dragging on due to a series of organisational changes at the company.
On February 15, 2005, BAWC's terminated the agreement on cargo sales in Finland by Finnair Cargo as the parties decided to split their sales activities.
The designation of a cargo GSA to serve in the Finnish market has since been expected, and BAWC said on February 21, that a decision would be published "within four to six weeks".
-The Finnish air cargo market is dominated by big volume shippers, so we are in a demanding position. With an energetic cargo GSA we hope to gain market shares enough to press the development towards a Nordic integration into BAWC's European Shorthaul Freighter program, or expanded cargo trucking systems to allow for better services, said Chris A Nielen, who was recently replaced by John Cheetham as BAWC Area Manager Benelux & Nordic in a yet-unpublished management reshuffle.
