JUL 01, 2005 (newstodate): After the recent change of ownership, Air Lithuania is considering several plans for its future development.
-Some of these plans comprise various changes in our operations, and actually we have already enhanced the profitability of our operations by cancelling the routes from the start of this year between Billund and Warsaw, and between Oslo and Gdansk, attaining better profitability through improved utilisation of the aircraft, says Naglis Vysnauskas, Air Lithuania director general.
Mr Vysniauskas is now also owner of the airline after Lithuanian freight forwarding company Arijus sold it stake as it lost the tender for Lithuanian Airlines.
-Another plan, which is an option, calls for expansion of routes and aircraft fleet, but no decision will be made before the latter part of this year, he says.
Air Lithuania currently operates three ATR-42 aircraft, including one owned by the company.
