JUL 04, 2005 (newstodate): Croatian airline Air Adriatic has taken possession of an MD-83 aircraft and plans for further expansion.
The airline currently operates a fleet of five MD-82 aircraft, and prepares to add a further two MD-83 in the near future, bringing the total to eight MD-80 family aircraft.
In 2002, the privately-owned carrier became the first Croatian airline to acquire its Air Operator Certificate from the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Transportation and Communications, in accordance with the JAR OPS1 standard.
