JUN 08, 2005 (newstodate): In response to growth in market demands, UPS will upgrade its aircraft operating between Cologne and Warsaw from a B727-100QF to a B757-200F on a five times weekly schedule.
With the aircraft swap, cargo capacity on the route will increase by some 20 tonnes, or almost twice the current capacity.
UPS in Poland grew export volume by close to 25 percent, y-o-y, in the first quarter of 2005, and the latest move follows on UPS's recent acquisition of Polish Messenger Service, Stolica S.A on May 4.
The acquisition has significantly broadened UPS' customer base in Poland.
