JUN 17, 2005 (newstodate): Taiwan maintains its focus on putting the issue of cross-strait cargo charter flights on the top of the agenda.
The Chinese side has proposed a mixed approach including also discussions of opening of the Chinese market to Taiwan's agricultural products, and the issue of Chinese tourism to Taiwan.
Taiwan notes that so far talks on direct cargo charter flights have made better progress than those involving passenger flights.
The issue of cross-strait cargo services have been under discussion since 2003.
