JUN 28, 2005 (newstodate): Russian capital seems to have found its way into Lithuanian aviation as the winner was found in the tender for 100 percent of the stake in Lithuanian Airlines.
The winning consortium comprises the Russian tour operator Tez Tours, the Lithuanian IT company Fima, and the Lithuanian charter airline Aurela.
The eventual stake to be held by the individual parties in the consortium has reportedly not yet been settled, but Tez Tours will go for a decisive part of the shares.
The Russian company, the first to enter the European airline industry, sees Lithuanian Airlines as a stepping stone for expansion into the European and EU markets for tourism and charter operations.
