JUN 30, 2005 (newstodate): Latvian freight forwarding company Spedair has started construction on a new multi-functional warehouse adjoining Riga Airport.
-The new complex will total 1416 sq m including some 630 sq m for general cargo, approximately 100 sq m for all kinds of special cargo including dangerous goods, live animals, cooling and freezers, as well as more than 350 sq m for office space, says Inga Brasla Spedair manager.
-Till now we have rented facilities from Riga Airport, but they are rather oldfashioned and inadequate to provide the services we require, she says.
Work started in May, and the new complex is planned to start operations by Autumn 2006.
