JUN 24, 2005 (newstodate): New direct non-stop Boeing 747 flights by Baltia Air Lines between New York JFK and St Petersburg are still under preparation.
While no launch date has yet been announced, the airline spokesman earlier named this fall as a target.
-We have now completed the financing issues and are working hard to get the project airborne, says Bob Strom, Baltia Air Lines spokesman.
Initially, the airline plans to offer once-weekly services during the first four to six weeks, later increasing to three weekly services and, after the first six months, to five to seven weekly flights.
Service will build on a leased Boeing 747 aircraft from an Icelandic ACMI provider.
