JUN 29, 2005 (newstodate): Effective from December 2, 2005, Hungarian carrier Malev will return to Bangkok.
Untill the end of March the carrier will operate thrice weekly to Bangkok with Boeing 767-200ER aircraft, mainly to serve the tourist market but also aiming at generating significant revenues from cargo and mail transportation.
-The Bangkok winter service is advantageous for the airline because traffic seasonality to Southeast Asia directly counterbalances that of the transatlantic flights operated by Malev, the airline says.
-Reduced passenger demand on flights to New York and Toronto during the winter season means transatlantic flight frequencies are reduced at this time, and this slack in capacity will now be taken up by the Far East route, optimising the utilisation of the airline's two B767-200ER aircraft.
