JUN 13, 2005 (newstodate): Siemens has landed an order from Alpine Mayreder Bau GmbH, Vienna, to modernize the airfield lighting system at the Podgorica airport in Montenegro.
The final customer is the state-owned Airports of Montenegro, APM, and total project costs are estimated to be around one million euro.
The work will be completed in August, 2005.
In 2003, APM started a program of modernisation supported by EBRD EIB.
The modernisation program comprises the construction by the Cypriotic construction firm CCM of a new 5,500 sq. m. passenger terminal and the renovation of the airfield.
The construction company Alpine Mayreder is upgrading the taxiways and the apron.
Siemens is supplying the electrical equipment for the Cat I airfield lighting system of the 2,500 m runway and also for the taxiway.
The contract also includes a new computer-aided airfield lighting control system
