JUN 21, 2005 (newstodate): Having decided to introduce thrice-weekly flights from Budapest to Sofia, Bulgaria, from September this year, Hungarian low cost carrier Wizz Air has set its eyes on Romania as a next new market.
Both Bulgaria and Romania, expectedly new EU-members from 2007, have aired intentions of joining EU's Open Skies Treaty from this year already, allowing for free access by all EU-based carriers.
In Bulgaria, Hemus Air is now reportedly preparing to face the low-cost competition by opening up own new budget flights from Sofia to Vienna, Leipzig, Stuttgart and Cologne/Bonn.
