JUN 06, 2005 (newstodate): As other airlines, Lufthansa Cargo is still not satisfied with the penetration of e-commerce.
-The isssue of e-bookings has been high on the agenda for more than ten years, but we are still only slightly above 10 percent, says Michael Schoop, Lufthansa Cargo manager Denmark.
-It is, however, essential to increase this percentage, and we have long offered options for e-bookings via our own website, via GF-X, and via Tradevision/Traxon in this market.
-To accelerate the process we will now push hard on GF-X and Tradevision/Traxon to make them invest more efforts into aligning freight forwarders with these tools.
-It is a cost issue, both for the airline and for the forwarder. Both parties stand to gain. Why is the process this slow, says Mr Schoop.
