JUN 24, 2005 (newstodate): Aiming to increase e-bookings and e-bookings penetration, the program "GF-X Champions" is delivering excellent early results, according to GF-X.
The initiative has helped GF-X achieve another record month, with e-bookings now standing at an annualised rate of 1.1 million.
The "GF-X Champions" group consists of key GF-X carrier and forwarder professionals in 22 locations across Europe, Asia and the Americas.
The initiative was launched at the end of last year with 12 participating locations, expanded with 10 additional locations in March of this year, each location appointing a "Lead Champion" who coordinates activities on behalf of the participants.
The Champions' key objective is to analyse GF-X transactional development in each location and identify untapped opportunities by working in collaboration with counterparts in their locations. With help from GF-X, Champions can identify blockages and facilitate improvements to deliver higher e-bookings growth and penetration.
Among the Champions, Panalpina reports a 120 percent growth in bookings in participating locations after a short period of time; in Atlanta, where Delta is the Lead Champion, the e-booking penetration rate more than doubled from around 18 to over 40 percent, and DHL Danzas in New York increased e-bookings by a factor 2.5.
-We are very pleased with the results so far and intend to continue the GF-X Champions initiative at least until the end of 2005, says Julie Calcunovitch, GF-X VP Client Services.
