JUN 30, 2005 (newstodate): The cargo GSA industry in Estonia is fully compliant with international standards, and forwarders have no complaints of irregularities.
-Until five or six years ago there would be cases where a GSA was unclear of its role vis-a-vis the freight forwarders, but that is long gone, says a major Estonian freight forwarder.
-Even if in some cases there may be distant co-ownerships with forwarding companies, Estonian GSAs are established as individual legal entities and observe the strict demands on neutrality, he says.
-We are aware of the situation in Lithuania that seems to be unique in a Baltic context, but in Estonia and Latvia the GSAs are fully in line with international business standards.
