JUN 09, 2005 (newstodate): After a prolonged delay, Swedish provider Envirotainer has finally received the air worthiness certificate for its RKN e1 electrical heating and compressor cooling container.
The certification proves that Envirotainer has met all of the requirements set by the aviation authorities to fly, operate and maintain the RKN e1.
The RKN e1 is designed to satisfy the extreme requirements of the healthcare industry in regards to product integrity and regulatory requirements of customers in the healthcare industry.
Since late June, 2004, the container has been tested on specific lanes in cooperation with lead customers.
In September, 2004, Magnus Welander, Envirotainer CEO, told newstodate that certification, already delayed by then, was "still pending".
-We have faced delays in the development project due to additional requirements from the airworthiness authorities and from technical improvements that have been introduced, but we expect the unit to be commercially available in the first half of next year, he said.
