JUN 14, 2005 (newstodate): After only a month of operations, the new SACT cargo trucking routes between Sweden and the Baltic markets are performing satisfactorily.
-It is, of course, still too early to make solid assesments, but we can say that we have attained a flow of cargo on our Baltic trucking network, and this is very promising, says Mikael Gahnstroem, SACT International manager.
SACT, a subsidiary of Cargo Center Sweden at Stockholm Arlanda and Malmo, has set up three weekly services to Tallinn, Riga, and Vilnius.
-From Arlanda we provide three weekly cargo road feeder services to Tallinn and Riga, while trucking lines from Malmo, also operated thrice weekly, are serving Vilnius and Riga, meaning that we have six weekly calls at Riga, says Mr Gahnstroem.
-Our customers are airlines that require on-ward transportation to the airports in the Baltic countries and vice-versa, says Mr Gahnstroem.
