JUN 03, 2005 (newstodate): Delta Air Lines has inaugurated its new non-stop route from Atlanta to Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport.
The route will be operated daily with Boeing 767-300ER aircraft till the end of this wummer program, after which the carrier cuts back to four weekly flights during the winter timetable.
So far Delta is the only U.S. airline to serve Russia nonstop and also serves Moscow from its John F. Kennedy International Airport hub.
Delta Air Lines is a member of the SkyTeam alliance that Aeroflot hopes to join later this year.
