JAN 02, 2005 (newstodate): Airbus confirms that there will be a delay in Entry Into Service of the first A380 aircraft delivered to Singapore Airlines and Qantas.
-The latest media reports are no "real" news. We communicated on this subject end of April following the successful first flight. We indicated that first EIS would be in the second half of 2006 instead of the second quarter of that year, says Ann de Crozals, Airbus Regional Press Manager.
-A moderate delay in the early production phase is anticipated. What counts is that the A380 enters service and operations in a good technical definition. We have reviewed the A380 production plan, based also on the latest industrial assessments within the factories and with the suppliers. This updated plan also takes into account the customers' desires reference their specific cabin configurations, she says.
-As for the A380F, there will be no impact. We are only talking about a delay in the early production phase, says Mrs de Crozals.
