JUN 30, 2005 (newstodate): In May, Copenhagen Airport generated a total of 29,373 tonnes of air cargo and mail, up 8.9 percent.
The increase was solely due to increasing transfer volumes, up 17 percent to 21,471 tonnes.
Transfer cargo thus constituted 73.1 percent of the total volumes, against 68 percent in May last year.
Both imports and exports were down by 3.8 and 15.6 percent y-o-y, respectively.
For the period January-May volumes totalled 141,298 tonnes, up 7.7 percent on last year.
Transfer cargo was alone in securing growth with a 12.2 percent increase to 141,291 tonnes, and constituting 71.3 percent of the total volume against 68.4 percent in the same period 2004.
Both imports and exports were down during the period by 1.8 and 2.4 percent, respectively.
The cargo volumes include flown and trucked mail and cargo.
