JUN 13, 2005 (newstodate): The Bulgarian state has now inked the the 35-year concession contract for Bourgas and Varna Airport with the Danish winnder of the recent tender, Copenhagen Airports.
Over the period, Copenhagen Airports must invest 526 million euro in the two airports' facilities, build a new passenger terminal at Varna Airport and renovate the existing terminal at Bourgas Airport.
The tender procedure remains contested by Fraport AG Frankfurt Airport Services Worldwide and Vinci Airports-Vinci Concessions, and the contract will therefore not take effect before the Bulgarian courts have finally settled the issue.
