JUN 13, 2005 (newstodate): To further boost its handling capacity of premium products, British Airways World Cargo has decided to build a new premium handling facility adjacent to its Ascentis terminal, London Heathrow.
The new 7,200 sq m facility is designed to double the carrier's current premium handling capacity and is expected to be operational by Autumn 2006.
Keith Packer, BAWC Senior VP sales & marketing, earlier told newstodate that premium cargo products constitute only 11 percent of the company's total volumes, and roughly the double in share of total revenues, so BAWC is keen to see the share of these products increasing significantly.
