JUN 08, 2005 (newstodate): LOT Polish Airlines is planning for an IPO during the early part of 2006.
The Polish state holds 68 percent of the shares in LOT, and the state intends to remain its position as majority sharholder after the IPO that will reportedly comprise only new shares to be issued in order to generate fresh capital for the carrier's expansion and financial consolidation.
Among the imminent priorities for LOT is the replacement of its ageing aircraft fleet of five Boeing 767 with six new aircraft.
Both Boeing and Airbus have been lobbying intensely through commercial and political channels for the prestigeous order for either Boeing 787 or Airbus A350/A330 aircraft.
