JUN 13, 2005 (newstodate): Qatar Airways today announced its decision to order up to 60 Airbus A350, thus lifting the A350 order book to 70 aircraft.
The order is evaluated at 10.6 billion US dollars, and comprises a mix of A350-800s and 900s aircraft planned for delivery from mid-2010 to 2015.
Emirates is expected to be another customer for the A350 but the airline has said a decision may not be taken before the Dubai Airshow in November this year.
The Qatar Airways order is important to Airbus that saw its A350 ousold by Boeing's competing 787 that has already landed 269 orders.
