MAY 25, 2005 (newstodate): Siberia Airlines has now received its first Boeing 737-500 aircraft.
The aircraft is the first of a batch of five Boeing 737 under an operational lease contract with Cramington Services Ltd.
The carrier will introduce the new aircraft on domestic flights from Moscow to Sochi, Rostov-on-Don, Nizhnii Novgorod, Kazan, Chelyabinsk, Novosibirsk, Nizhnevartovsk, and on international flights to Germany, Armenia, and Ukraine.
Commercial flights will start early in June after completion of the required customs procedures and insertion of the new aircraft type into the airlines Operators Certificate.
Airline specialists are now conducting work with a number of airports in order to provide for permission for servicing this new modification of the Boeing 737, which has never before been operated within Russia.
