MAY 11, 2005 (newstodate) Singapore Airlines Cargo lifted a total of 1,150,000 tonnes of cargo and mail in its fiscal year ending March 31, 2005.
This represented an increase at 9.4 percent over the preceding year.
Measured in revenue tonne kilometres the growth was 8.6 percent, but the cargo load factor dropped 3.0 percentage, to 63.5 percent because the cargo capacity measured in available tonne kilometres increased at a faster pace, 13.7 percent.
The cargo breakeven load factor improved 2.9 percentage points to 59.3 percent, however, because the yield improvement by 8.5 percent exceeded the increase in unit cost, 3.4 percent.
