MAY 09, 2005 (newstodate): Polish regional airport Lodz Lublinek expects to complete its ongoing airport expansion projects by autumn this year.
Included in the project is an extension of the airport's runway from currently 1,440 to 21,00 metres, which will allow operations by aircraft the size of Boeing 737 compared to today's limits to regional turboprop operations.
The airport is owned by Locz city authority that has carried the investment.
Also in the pipeline are projects for a new passenger terminal and updated airport infrastructure.
Airlines operating at Lodz include SAS and Cimber Air.
