MAY 04, 2005 (newstodate): SAS is not considering an acquisition of Lithuanian Airlines.
SAS already has the presence it needs in the Lithuanian market through its subsidiary airBaltic that has established a hub at Vilnius, so even if SAS requested the Lithuanian Airlines sales documents it will not pursue the issue further, the carrier's director communications says.
Three Lithuanian companies have formed a consortium to buy all shares in Lithuanian Airlines, aiming at boosting the airline's market position in the Baltic markets.
