MAY 19, 2005 (newstodate): The Icelandair leasing company has signed a contract with Air China for the lease of five Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
The deal, worth between 170 and 180 million dollars, was signed in Beijing in China on Wednesday by Hannes Smarason , Chairman of Icelandair Group, and Zhang Yang, President of Air China.
Air China will lease the aircraft for eight years, slated to receive the aircraft by next year as leave the Boeing plant.
In January the Icelandair Group placed orders for ten 737-800 aircraft, adding five additional aircraft in April.
