MAY 25, 2005 (newstodate): During the first four months of 2005, Finland's air cargo volumes dropped by 3.2 percent to a total of 35,519 tonnes against 36,869 tonnes in 2004.
International cargo also fell by 3.2 tonnes to 33,751 tonnes.
April, however, produced a significant recovery, with an increase by four percent to 9,121 tonnes, against a sustained negative development during the period January-April, 2005, with volumes in February dipping the lowest, down 8.5 percent to 8,302 tonnes.
By contrast, a recent Lufthansa Cargo forecast foresees Finland's export airfreight volumes to increase by 5.5 percent annually during the period 2003-2009.
