MAY 02, 2005 (newstodate): Airfreight volumes at Gothenburg Landvetter Airport continued to drop through March, down 23 percent in totals.
In March, the airport generated 4,829 tonnes of air cargo, with imports down by five percent to 2.980 tonnes, and exports down by 41 percent to 1,849 tonnes.
For the period January-March, cargo volumes totalled 13,542 tonnes, down 15 percent on last year.
Imports were down two percent to 7,882 tonnes, while exports dipped by 28 percent to 5,659 tonnes.
The significant decline is mainly attributed to irregular services by Polar Air, so far one of the airport's main customers.
