MAY 03, 2005 (newstodate): The CIS export air cargo markets are expected to grow by 6.2 percent during the period 2004-2010, a Lufthansa Cargo analysis says.
In 2004, the CIS markets generated a total of 56,675 tonnes of export airfreight, expected to grow to 81,120 tonnes by 2010.
In 2004, 47 percent, or 26,567 tonnes left the CIS countries for Asia/Pacific destinations, while 28.4 percent, or 16,109 tonnes left for Europe.
17.9 percent, or 10,196 tonnes were exported by air to North America, the analysis says.
During the period 2004-2010 growth will be strongest in the Asia/Pacific segment, up 8.3 percent, while European exports will grow by 3.6 percent only, and export for North America by 4.5 percent.
