MAY 11, 2005 (newswtodate): With the latest orders from SkyEurope for up to 32 Boeing 737-700 aircraft, and Polish Airlines LOT's probable yet-unannounced choice of Boeing 787 to replace its 767 fleet, the aircraft manufacturer has again proved its predominant position in the East and Central European markets.
Boeing forecasts that Central European airlines will require about 570 new aircraft worth about 30.6 billion UD dollars over the next 20 years.
Single-aisle aircraft in the 100- to 150-seat market, such as the 737, will account for 72 percent. Nine percent will be twin-aisle aircraft such as the Boeing 777 and 787, with the remainder being regional jets.
