MAY 23, 2005 (newstodate): British Airways World Cargo has added Prague, the Czech Republic, as its first East European destination on the European Short Haul Freighter Program.
-We are taking this oportunity to test a key location in Eastern Europe which is a growing market for airfreight, and where we have identified a need with our customers for a dedicated freighter service, says Keith Packer, BAWC Senior Vice President Global Sales and Marketing.
The Prague service is operated once weekly with a Boeing 757 providing uplift to supplement BA's passenger flights.
BAWC set up its European Short Haul Freighter Program from October 24, 2003, in cooperation with DHL Aviation on routes between the carrier's hub at London Heathrow and key European hubs in Frankfurt, Bergamo Brussels, Amsterdam, Munich, Paris and Hamburg with a connection to and from Dublin.
