MAY 04, 2005 (newstodate): Bulgaria Air has taken delivery of a Boeing 737-500 aircraft.
The aircraft is leased from AWAS and brings Bulgaria Air's fleet to a total of six aircraft, joining four 737-300 and one 737-500 aircraft in service.
Bulgaria Air, set up in 2002 under the name Bulgaria Air Charter, replaced the collapsed Balkan Bulgarian Airlines.
The carrier will place the Boeing aircraft in service on its routes from Sofia to European new destinations including Prague, Milan and St Petersburg.
