APR 29, 2005 (newstodate): Turkish carrier World Focus Airlines has received the first of three MD-83 aircraft on a lease contract with AWAS.
The carrier will operate the aircraft from its hub at Istanbul Ataturk Airport, flying routes between Turkish and European destinations.
-The MD-83 continues to provide the excellent operating economics required by charter operators and scheduled carriers. In the high-density layout World Focus has selected, the MD-83 provides the capacity of an A320 or B737-700 at a fraction of the lease rate of a new aircraft, says Alan Jackson, AWAS VP Sales.
