APR 25, 2005 (newstodate): Turkish company Celebi has emerged as the winner in the tender for renovation and expansion of the terminal and runway at Georgia's capital airport, Tblisi International Airport.
Celebi thus outperformed the other known participants including the German-based company Tacom Gloriya Pivden, the Georgian architect Goga Beridze, and the Georgian construction firm Paladi-Palace.
Celebi will now reportedly invest 56 million USD in construction work over the next eleven months, and Celebi will also undertake the management of the airport for 10 years after the completion of the construction projects.
Georgia's president has picked the construction of a new international airport as one of the government's main priorities for 2005.
