APR 05, 2005 (newstodate): Taiwan will soon open its first air cargo park in the free trade zone in Taoyuan County, northern Taiwan.
With the capacity to store and handle a maximum of 120 metric tonnes of cargo, the build-operate-transfer, BOT, park is financed by an enterprising conglomerate in Taiwan and a unit under Ministry of Transportation and Communications.
The air cargo park will start operations in this year's 4th quarter as the first of 12 such trade zones currently planned by the government in harbors and airports.
