APR 01, 2005 (newstodate): Swedish carrier SWE FLY, that start operations from London to Lahore, Pakistan, via Stockholm Skavsta from May 15, is already planning for a major expansion including more aircraft capacity and new Asian destination.
SWE FLY, that has taken in its first Boeing 767-200 on a lease contract with IFLC, is currently negotiating a wet-lease contract with "another operator" to bolster regularity in case of AOG or other major operational incidents.
SWE FLY is also negotiating with an unnamed party to acquire two additional Boeing 767 aircraft before the end of this year when the airline plans to add Bangkok to its route network.
SWE FLY is also setting up a network to feed traffic into its hub at Stockholm.
This system includes Fokker F50 operations from Oslo and Stockholm.
From the start, SWE FLY's Boeing 767 will operate the leg between London Luton and Stoickholm Skavsta, but from June 17, when frequency will be upped from initially three to six weekly rotations, SWE FLY will lease an MD-80 aircraft to operate between the UK and Sweden, while the Boeing 767 aircraft will be reserved for traffic between Sweden and Pakistan and, from December 8, Bangkok.
