APR 13, 2005 (newstodate): In the third round of tenders for Lithuanian Airlines, SAS has again emerged as a potential bidder.
The SAS Group CEO has confirmed the carrier's interest in taking possession of the Lithuanian airline after already controlling airBaltic, Latvia, and Estonian Air, Estonia.
Earlier attempts at privatising Lithuanian Airlines failed as bidders, including SAS, withdrew due to price and financing issues.
Since then, Lithuanian Airlines has been streamlined by the sell-off of various non-core activities.
