APR 04, 2005 (newstodate): Taiwanese airline China Airlines will add a new route between Vienna and Taipei from May 3.
The airline had wanted to operate with a stop at Bangkok, but has not been able to obtain 5th freedom traffic rights on the Bangkok-Vienna leg, as has its competitor on the route, Eva Airlines that will increase its frequency to five weekly flights to Vienna.
China Airlines plans to operate the new route with Airbus A340-300 aircraft.
