APR 06, 2005 (newstodate): Romania's airfreight export volumes will grow by 4.4 percent annually, according to a recent Lufthansa Cargo analysis.
In 2004, Romania generated a total of 14,725 tonnes of export air cargo, up 9.7 percent on 2003.
In its earlier forecast, Lufthansa Cargo estimated Romania's annual airfreight growth to be 4.8 percent.
In 2004, 46.9 percent of the total export volumes went to Europe, while 23.9 percent was destined for North America, 14.3 percent for Asia/Pacific, and 10.3 percent for the Near East.
In this forecast, airfreight exports to the Asia/Pacific market are expected to grow the most, by 8.3 percent, while exports to North America will grow by 3.5 percent.
