APR 28, 2005 (newstodate): An ex-Soviet military airfield in Latvia has been put up for sale.
The airport of Jelgava, some 45 km south of Latvia's capital Riga, has a 2,500 m concrete runway and 15 aircraft parking positions.
A private company owns the landing strip and all overhead objects including buildings, with property rights registered in Jelgava district Land Register of the Zemgale Regional Court.
The airport claims to be equipped with "all communications", and will go at a negotiable price.
