APR 06, 2005 (newstodate): Italian ATM and ATC bodies will come under extreme pressure during the period of the papal burial on Friday.
To maintain a tight security grip, the airspace will be curtailed for commercial traffic around Rome's principal airports as foreign president and other dignitaries fly in to attend to the ceremonies.
At the same time many commercial airlines are increasing capacity and frequencies to meet the demands from the public for transportation to Rome during the burial.
From the late pope's original homeland, Poland, alone, LOT and its low-cost arm Centralwings reportedly plan to add at least a dozen flights, while Wizzair will add seven and SkyEurope four flights from various Polish destinations to Rome.
