APR 11, 2005 (ne3wstodate): The Russian freighter IL-76 once again proved its versatitily on a charter operation from Malaysia to Russia.
Late March, a Russian-based oil company contracted Air Charter Service's Moscow office to lift an oversized piece of equipment from Johor Baru to Usno Sakhalinsk.
While weight at 16.8 tonnes was clearly no problem, the challenged consisted in the demanding dimensions measuring 565 x 256.5 x 314 cm.
This left only six cm free space between the top of the tool and the aircraft interior.
The flight was performed by one internemediate stop at Taipei, Taiwan.
