APR 12, 2005 (newstodate): Estonian transport and logistics provider IK Speditor Group has changed the location of its Lithuanian subsidiary from Vilnius to Kaunas.
-We set up our Vilnius office in January, 2004, but very early realised that Kaunas, in the western part of Lithuania, was actually a better location for our services, says Lauri Hanni, IK Speditor deputy managing director and sales manager.
-Kaunus enjoys the benefits of its airport, and is better positioned for our trucking operations, so we moved here from Vilnius after only half a year of operations, he says.
Pending the appointment of a new managing director to succeed Melis Koitmae who left the company this year, Indrek Kasak, the Group's chairman of the board, is currently holding the position.
